Strengthening and Lengthening For Your Hip Flexors

Your hip flexors work hard - they lift your leg up with every stride you take and stabilise the hips. If they are tight and weak this can lead to lower back and hip pain. In this class you'll do some poses that will strengthen them and stretch them out too. After a standing warm-up you'll take some slow rounds of Sun Salutation and, in each round, there is an added hip flexor-focussed sequence. You'll then come down to sitting, before finishing with some supine stretches and Savasana.
Props needed: A blanket if needed for kneeling on plus two flat blocks.
Mat direction: Short edge facing the screen for the vinyasa flow and the seated poses, then you might want to turn it so the long edge faces for the supine poses.
