Catch Up Class Week 3 - Monday Night Stretch & Relax
Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes
Emphasis: Enjoy a slow and quiet Yin Yoga practice that will stretch your fascia and allow your nervous system to relax. We start the class though with a little bit about the second of the Purusharthas (the Four Values of Life), known as Artha - managing our possessions and our wealth. We then take some variations of Half Shoelace and some forward bends such as Butterfly and Dragonfly, before coming down to the ground for Flying Butterfly, Half Stirrup and Windscreen Wipers. We then come up to hands and knees for a gentle Melting Heart backbend, and finally Childs Pose. I'll then take you on a guided journey through your body, visiting 61 points, known as Yoga Nidra. Just so you know, Yin Yoga poses have different names than traditional yoga poses and they don't use Sanskrit names for them, only English.
Props needed: A blanket, a brick and 2 blocks.
Mat direction: Long edge of the mat facing the screen.
